Our relationship to masks precede Covid by countless eons. In many traditions masks are powerful, enchanted objects, imbued with qualities that can transform the wearer. They have long been used as tools for embodiment, protection, concealment and expression.
A colourful ensemble of masked entities unite for ‘The Summoning’, a mask installation by Melbourne artist Nathalia Suizu. Over 20 unique, hand-sculpted & painted art masks are spirited to life in a totemic collection that celebrates the magic and the mystical.
